How to Make a Hip Gadget Holder

Perfect for the tech-toting girl! This adorable accessory — made from a sock — is a chic way for your daughter to carry her mobile phone or MP3 player.

What You Will Need
  • Girl’s sock
  • Scissors
  • Plastic needle
  • Ribbon
  • Charms (optional)
  • Glue (optional)
How to Do It
  1. Select a new sock with a pretty color or pattern. Help your daughter cut off the top, so she’s left with a piece measuring five to six inches from the toe.
  2. Fold over the top edge to hem and stitch the perimeter with a plastic needle threaded with ribbon.
  3. Make a handle by running ribbon from one side of the tote to the other and tying a knot at each end to secure.
  4. Add a drawstring by loosely stitching a long piece of ribbon around the opening, about a half-inch from the top.
  5. For extra flair, glue charms to the ends of the drawstring. Let dry. Now her tote is ready to hit the town!
